Aperol is the perfect apéritif; bright orange in colour, light on alcohol, but with a bittersweet and refreshing taste derived from the infusion of a blend of high-quality herbs and roots. Aperol was created by the Barbieri brothers and launched in 1919, soon becoming one of the Italians' favourite liqueurs, now taking the world by storm.
Create the classic Aperol Spritz by following the golden 3-2-1 rule: 3 parts Prosecco, 2 parts Aperol, and 1 part soda water. Serve it ice-cold in a large wine glass, garnished with a fresh orange slice.
Method:
Fill a large wine glass or balloon glass to the brim with plenty of ice.
Pour in 3 parts Prosecco (roughly 75 ml) / Pour in 2 parts Aperol (roughly 50 ml) / Top it off with 1 part club soda or sparkling water (roughly 25 ml)
Add a slice of fresh orange. You can gently squeeze a bit of the orange juice into the glass first for extra flavour.
Stir gently
