Using 100% sugarcane molasses from Negros island, Don Papa Gayuma is distilled in the unique volcanic climate surrounding the foothills of Mt. Kanlaon, before being aged in a combination of American oak ex-bourbon barrels and finished in Islay whisky barrels for a distinctive smoky aroma, a testament to the Isla del Fuego and its traditions. The rum is dark amber in colour with a distinct peaty nose, a soft and delicate vanilla, light orange peel notes, deep cacao, with hints of cloves and mint. It’s intense smokey tinge and spicy finish creates a well balanced yet complex liquid.
