The F.E.W Whisky Distillery is based in Illinois, a state that was historically dry due to its strong ties to the temperance movement. With one tongue in cheek the brand is named after Frances Elizabeth Willard who was the leader temperance movement from 1879. Its mashbill includes 60% corn, 20 % rye, and 10% malted barley, which is fermented using a proprietary yeast strain and aged in new-charred oak barrels. On the nose, you'll find inviting aromas of caramel, vanilla, and a hint of baking spices, with notes of black cherries and a touch of smoke.
